And finding veins of oil shale means gas is never an issue. I personally love being near dessert for the sand so I can make ridiculous amounts of concrete. But I can't complain, that game taught me everything I needed to know. It's sad though, because I had put so much time and effort into that game, and was prepping to begin building other bases for fun. I was in the process of moving the forge/workshop due west in hopes to reduce lag (which I thought may contributed to the errors), but became addicted to random gen. It was my longest game play, but I abandoned it once it started kicking me out constantly with an error. Though this spawned screamers constantly, but with the spike moat, they never lived long enough to be an actual threat. And once I discovered the reinforced drawbridge, I was extremely happy with the entire outcome.Īnd originally, where the gun safe is located, I dug downward and created a forge/workshop area. And the entire roof is surrounded by double layered iron bars so I can snipe downwards at any threat. I also used the car port as my tunnel entrance out from the base. Added an addition building on the roof that connects the bedrooms to the roof access. I created bedrooms by using the scaffolding on the ceiling that's located directly under the roof. I upgraded it entirely into concrete, with a pit surrounding the entire building filled with spikes, (3 layers outward of spikes, roughly 10 blocks down). And in truth, with the mini bike, its very easy and quick to get to anywhere on the map no matter where you decide.īut the junkyard for me was amazing. For some reason, I never overheated as much there as I do on a Random Gen world. Yeah, it depends on what exactly you consider ideal.įor me, I spawned just south of the junkyard in the Southeast on that map. Thx Lax, and also what was the name of that Random World? I've been trying to find a cliff for a base but haven't had any such luck. Start dreaming and the suggestions will come. Sure 'nuff, the game had huge cliffs for me to choose from. I started a random game and called it Mountains. If they approach from any other direction, they'll fall and break their legs slowing them down, making them easier to pick off. Why? Because I envisioned a base where the Zeds could only attack from the front. Right now I'm building a base on the side of a cliff. For example, do you want a simple three block tower, a tower that reaches up to the sky, a tree house, a subterranean dungeon with a vast tunnel system, an iron cage with a trap door? Sky's the limit! Once you decide what kind of base you want to build, I'm sure people can offer better suggestions. It's also one of the reasons why I love this game so much. Once the item is crafted, it is available in the workbench output slots. Once the item to be crafted is selected in the workbench menu and "craft" is selected, the ingredients move from inventory to the workbench queue. To craft an item, a player must have all ingredients in Inventory. There is no fuel source other than the ingredients necessary to craft a particular item. Once placed, the workbench is ready to use. This enables a player to craft multiple items in parallel, when crafting with the workbench as well as from their backpack, as previously done. Using ingredients held in the players Inventory, the workbench can craft items that the player can normally craft from their backpack as well as items that are only available on the Workbench. The Workbench is an additional crafting queue for the player.
